Alpha Dog Club Waiting Room

Alpha Dog Club is Richmond’s Dog Swim Center. Our climate controlled 3500 square foot building including our swimming pool. We have Richmond’s only saline dog pool. That means we use less chlorine than other dog/swimming pools. The salt in the pool is less than in the human tear drop and much lower than in the ocean. This is better for the dog’s skin, eyes, and coat. We maintain the pool temperature at 84 degrees, warm enough for comfort yet cool enough for recreational dog swimming.

The deep end of the pool (18 x 28 feet, 504 square feet) is for graduates of assisted swims, and is primarily for those interested in serious conditioning or fun games of fetch. It is deeper (11 feet) and is safer for dogs to want to dive into the pool playing fetch.

We provide float coats in different sizes and pick the right one for your dog.  Canine life jackets are for your dog’s safety and helps shy dogs with confidence-building and keeps older dogs from having to exert less energy.  The float coats are required for all dogs, regardless of their swimming ability.
